David Olshinski is a Juris Doctor candidate at Campbell University School of Law, where he has earned multiple academic honors, including the Advanced Legal Writing Book Award and one of the highest scores in Trial Advocacy during the Spring 2025 semester, and Honors in Pretrial Litigation. As the Digital Media Editor for the Campbell Law Observer, David is dedicated to producing clear, engaging content that explores the legal issues shaping our communities today. In addition to his editorial work, David serves as a Teaching Scholar for Advanced Legal Writing, competes on the Mock Trial Team, and participates in the Restorative Justice Clinic. He also advanced to the Elite Eight in the Old Kivett Moot Court competition. Outside the classroom, David has developed extensive courtroom experience as a Certified Legal Intern with both the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina and the Davidson & Davie County District Attorney’s Office. He has first-chaired numerous bench trials, managed felony cases from intake through disposition, negotiated pleas, and created training opportunities for other legal interns. Originally from Thomasville NC, David brings a passion for connecting legal scholarship with real-world practice and a commitment to making the law more accessible through thoughtful, timely reporting.
